
Breckenridge Athletics Weekly Update: 1/19-1/26
This week brought some unexpected schedule changes, with two snow days causing cancellations and disruptions. Despite that, our athletes showed resilience and put forth strong performances across multiple sports!
Boys Basketball
Varsity:
The boys played two home games, defeating Ashley on Tuesday (58-29) and battling Fulton to a hard-fought overtime loss on Thursday (46-48). The effort against Fulton was a standout, as they took the game into extra time.
Game 1 vs. Ashley:
Score: Breckenridge 58, Ashley 29
Leaders: Blaze Snyder (season-high 18 pts), Noah Barr (13 pts), Carter Suhr (9 pts)

The JV boys remained unbeaten, playing one game and defeating Fulton 59-25.

Competitive Cheer
The team competed in the first MSAC meet of the season at home on Monday, celebrating Senior Night for five seniors and finishing 4th. They improved in all three rounds at Thursday’s MSAC meet in Coleman, finishing 3rd. Their next competition is MSAC #3 on Feb. 6 in St. Charles.
Girls Basketball
Varsity:
The girls played one game this week, traveling to Fulton on Friday. They battled hard in a double-overtime loss (40-38).

JV:
The JV girls split their games this week, losing to Hemlock on Monday (35-18) and rebounding with a win over Fulton on Friday (26-17).

Bowling
The JV squads maintained or surpassed their season averages this week, with the girls setting a team-high Baker game score of 176. The JV team had a doubleheader against Shepherd A and B squads, narrowly losing to the B squad (14.5-15.5).
Varsity bowlers competed in Greenville, where both teams finished 5th overall.
Individual highlights:
Kylo: 9th place overall
Raegyn: 11th place overall and top-performing girl of the tournament
Team Leaders:
Harland & Miranda (highest Baker %), Anthony & Maycie (Baker strike %), Ryan & Raegyn (highest first-ball %)
Notable Performances: Braxton (+12 pins over avg.), Eva (+2), Kolby (on avg.)

No matches this week, but the team continues to work hard in practice, staying prepared for their next meet.

Boys Varsity Basketball: Start time update! The Huskies will take on Ashley tonight at 6:30 PM. Be sure to come out and cheer them on! 🐾

Middle School Boys Basketball: The game vs. Vestaburg has also been canceled.

Parents of 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade students due to not having school tomorrow and they were supposed to have the Hoops for Hunger Field Trip Basketball game, CMU has stated students and their families could get in FREE. Just let them know your tickets were with Breckenridge Elementary and Game time is at 11am at McGuirk Arena.

Valentine's Day is coming up so that means it's Valentine Balloon time.
Order forms are due FEBRUARY 7th!
Please turn in order form and money to the elementary office. They will be delivered during school and all proceeds go to help the Breckenridge Youth Football program.

Open Enrollment is now open for our GSRP program for the 2025-2026 school year. New for this year there will be no income requirements to attend. All 4 year olds will qualify for free Pre-K until all spots are filled and they must be 4 years old on or before December 1st.
